Selah wants water for her friends!
Share
One sunny afternoon at the beach, our 3 year old daughter- Selah looked out into the ocean and said, "there is so much water in the world". When we told her that there are kids just like her who do not even have any water to drink, let alone to swim in, she very nearly shed a tear and has since started a money box for Charity:Water.
Her exact words: "I want all my friends to have lots and lots of water and they can even come to our house and go to the beach with us"
For the new year and as she turns 4, we want to help raise a minimum of $500 for charity:water as it will bring clean drinking water to approx. 12 people.
In a world where you can be ANYTHING: Be KIND.
WHY WE ARE SO SERIOUS ABOUT THIS?
Clean water is essential for human survival and well-being. It is used for drinking, cooking, cleaning, and irrigating crops, among other things. Access to clean water helps prevent the spread of waterborne diseases such as cholera, typhoid, and dysentery, which can cause illness and death, particularly in developing countries.
Clean water is also crucial for healthy ecosystems and wildlife. Rivers and lakes provide habitats for a diverse range of plants and animals, and they also serve as important sources of water for agriculture and industry.
However, access to clean water is not a reality for everyone. According to the World Health Organization, 2 billion people lack access to safe drinking water. In addition, water pollution caused by human activities such as industrialization, agriculture, and sewage disposal can make water unsafe for consumption and use.
Governments, international organizations, and communities must work together to improve access to clean water and to protect water resources from contamination. This can be done through investment in water treatment facilities, the development of sustainable agriculture and industrial practices, and the implementation of strong environmental regulations.
It is clear that clean water is vital for human health, ecosystems, and economic development. Ensuring access to clean water for all should be a priority for governments and communities worldwide.
Help little Selah (Owner of Selah CC) to reach this target by her 4th birthday.
